We are a team of volunteer coaches that are fighting to redefine the historical and societal perceptions of who defines as a boxer.

Ellen Connor

Head Coach

Ellen is a NCCP Certified Level 1 Boxing Canada coach. She started Sooke Boxing in 2016, a non profit Boxing Club located in Sooke, BC. She is the creator of West Coast Wonder Women+ after seeing the need to give our females a platform of their own.
Sooke Boxing Club is the host club of West Coast Wonder Women+.

Fernando Rivas

Fernando was a registered Boxing Canada coach. Fernando was originally from Mexico and boxing was certainly in his blood!! Prior to coming to Canada, he was a key member of The Arena Boxing Club in San Diego. He had coached both amateur and professional boxers. He brought a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to WCWW+. We are honoured to have had him pass along his knowledge. In honour of him, we have created the Fernando Rivas Memorial Award – an award that is given to the most sportsman international athlete.

Dr. Eric Milne

Physician

Dr. Eric Milne is a Hospitalist Physician at Victoria General Hospital. Originally from newfoundland, he previously trained and competed in Kyokushin Karate, with some Judo. He has specialty training in Hyperbaric, Undersea and Diving Medicine, and in interest in Aerospace Medicine.
